The seventh graders participated in a Harlem Walking Tour as a part of the Harlem Renaissance mini unit. The tour guides were incredibly knowledgable about the area and pointed out important buildings like the former Savoy Club, The Cotton Club, Strivers' Row and the Abyssinian Baptist Church. Some groups also participated in an art workshop inspired by the Harlem Renaissance. They visited the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture where they viewed a film about the Great Migration and the Harlem Renaissance.
