6th Grade Trip - Public Place and Whole Foods

During our second sixth grade unit, our students are studying sustainable city planning and exploring the question: how does a city meet the needs of its residents without depleting the resources for future residents? They are learning about brownfields and superfunds and will create a redesign for a local brownfield called "Public Place." Recently they visited Public Place to observe the land use in the neighborhood. They also took a guided tour of Whole Foods, a sustainable building that was built on a remediated brownfield. We look forward to the redesign projects!
